Description: This is a 1-year PGY2 specialty residency in infectious diseases (ID) pharmacotherapy. At this time, the program is not ASHP accredited. The goal of the program is to provide the incoming resident with the opportunities to develop expertise in the practice of infectious diseases pharmacy as a key player in the interdisciplinary ID team. The program will focus on developing the necessary clinical, didactic and research skills needed to practice as an independent ID pharmacist. Upon completion, residents will be prepared for advanced patient care, academic/scholarly work, and other ID specialized positions, and successfully pass the BCIDP exam. Longitudinal antimicrobial stewardship activities will take place a St. Anthony Hospital, a nearby 150-bed community hospital, where the resident works closely with the ID attending physician as the antimicrobial stewardship team.
